Enhancing Lives through Transplantation
The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than in its value.

Quality and safety are our first priority.

All transplant tissue provided by Northwest Tissue Services is from regional donors, evaluated by the NWTS staff, recovered in our operating room, tested under our direction, processed in our controlled-environment facility and distributed, tracked and followed by Northwest Tissue Services.

Quality control begins with recovery procedures.

Northwest Tissue Services uses controlled recovery procedures that are only performed in an operating room environment and are never post autopsy. We recover all tissue aseptically and process it by strict adherence to surgical principles.

Donor suitability and tracking ensure safety.

Donor evaluation includes a review of all available medical records, discussion with medical staff, and next-of-kin interviews using a standardized screening form. All recovered tissues are immediately placed in quarantine and tested for exposure to infectious diseases before being released for distribution. GraftTrack, our unique donor to recipient custodial process carefully documents all aspects of the recovery, testing, storing, and distribution and tracking of tissue.
