"The day before the first game of my senior season I felt something give in my right knee. It was excruciating pain. I rehabbed hours a day for a shot at one more basketball season. The next year we went to the NCAA tournament and I made the all-Big Sky Conference team. Sometimes, I think about the person whose ligament is in my knee now, and I'm thankful, more than anything."
